The tracks below were made by me during my University years (1997 – 2001). I used a DOS program called Impulse Tracker, and too a lesser extent Cool Edit Pro. The chewns below reflect the music I was listening to at the time, and to a greater degree, my mindset. A lot of my music was created out of anger, boredom, depression, yearning, and friendship. While most of the tracks below were made by me alone, some of them were collaborations. I spent a great deal of time sifting through the still-young-internet looking for cool samples, instruments, and other files to make music. In a number of songs, samples are of phone messages and cassette recordings.

The files below are not my entire collection, but they’re all I have left after moving around, losing hard drives, etc. If you enjoy a song, there is a link to download it.

Dayv Mattt, aka Chiamattt

“He feeds those pigs dead people, and then he eats the pigs” is the sample I found on the net. If memory serves, the sample is from an Australian b-movie. I made this song with my buddy Sean the Con. Breaks with pigs squealing; amazing stuff!

Noizy track with breaks that finishes off with the sample “all I remember is feeling something sticky in my pants”.

Lighthearted breaks track with a Bob Saget sample from the movie half baked.

An ambient track with a steady bass beat.

Dreamy ambient track with a little bass here and there.

Ambient track utilizing a speech by the one and only V.I.Lenin. I find this song especially depressing.

This track was created in the aftermath of a long talk I had with a good friend who was dealing with the divorce of his parents. It’s short and I never finished it.

Amour Propre is how the French say love thy self. Most of the sounds in this are pictures of myself. I am especially proud of this song, and I am especially angry that I lost an 18 minute version of it where I incorporated a number of short unfinished work-in-progresses. Alas, this version is good too.

Dark and breaky.

Hardcore track with shit loads of hi-hat action.

This is a remix of Ave Maria I did with Cool Edit Pro. I am especially fond of this song, and I feel that this version is a unique and wonderful noize remix of it.

Noizecore. Loved it in University, can’t do it now. If you like noize, this might be for you.

Gabber. Not my thing anymore.

Richard Daley’s famous quote, “Gentlemen, get this thing straight for once and for all. The policeman isn’t there to create dis order. The policeman is there to pre serve disorder” is the sample used in this breaky track. Still dig it.
