Aboot

Chiamattt, as an identity, was born at a computer in a basement bedroom of a middle class bungalow in a suburb of Toronto during the mid-to-late 1990s. The nom de guerre Chiamattt was never intended to last as long as it has. Prior to Chiamattt, and in quick succession, there were identities like Cider, Canadarules, and Copland, but for various reasons Chiamattt remained and was never replaced; that is unless the abbreviation Chiam is considered a replacement.

There are so many things I want to explain about my life experiences back in high school and university. Sadly, those periods of my life feel so very distant and all that is left are recollections, memory fragments, and one or two sentence stories. I must admit, I have done a piss poor job saving and archiving my offline and online life. The word disjunctive comes to mind.

Without going into greater detail, the person I am today is a product of the phases, the travels, the ups, the downs, the experiences, and perhaps most importantly, the people I befriended, loved, and hated.

I am Chiamattt, and I am addicted to cigarettes, alcohol, foreplay, photography, cursing, and simple white dress shirts. While I am smoking, drinking, foreplaying, photographing, cursing, and wearing simple white dress shirts, I sometimes enjoy listening to music.

Hey,
I really love that hangul image you came up with. I hope you don’t mind, but I posted it on my website, with a link to yours of course. I just found your blog today and I am instantly one of your biggest fans. If you are ever in the Busan neighbourhood let me know. I promise to buy you a beer if I can pick your brain for a while.

Saw your name card on Seoul bus # 472. I, as an amateur photographer, admire your photography.

Hi

I was looking around for Hangul alphabet images and saw the one you had created back in 2009. My wife and I (in Seattle) would love to create a poster with your image for our soon-to-be nursery. Basically, we’d just blow it up into a 24 X 36 poster. I hope that’s ok … and assuming that’s ok, would you happen to have a higher-res version of that image?

Thanks a lot and, again, great job with the design.
